Tanzania Safari + Taste of Cultural Traditions

This 7-day Tanzania safari takes you through the most incredible experiences by visiting Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater. Apart from visiting these parks, you will also visit the Hadzabe tribe, also known as the bushmen, and participate in the activities they do. You will also experience the Maasai Tradition and participate in their daily activities like spear throwing.

Arrival

Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro international airport-JRO or Arusha airport-ARK), you will be met by your personal driver-guide who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay, where you will be waiting for your adventures to start on the following day.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park (120km approximately 2hrs drive)

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire, Tanzania's third-largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and up to six thousand elephants. Enjoy a game drive with picnic lunches. Dinner and overnight at Maramboi Tented Lodge.

Day 3

Maramboi Tented Lodge to Lake Eyasi (148km approximately 2hrs 30mins)

After breakfast, drive straight from your accommodation to Lake Eyasi to visit the bushmen (Hadzabe tribe). The Hadzabe Bushmen live in and around lake Eyasi, just south of the Ngorongoro highlands. Once you arrive there, they will show you how and where they live. One of the oldest tribes in Africa, the Hadzabe has consistently lived a hunting and gathering lifestyle. You will also visit the blacksmiths and learn how the men do the work. After having a visit and lunch we drive to our accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge or Similar.

Day 4

Lake Eyasi to Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu

After breakfast drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the Largest Unbroken Calderas on the Planet with over 25,000 Wild Creatures in the Caldera More Prides Per Capita than Anywhere on Earth. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in East Africa to see the Big Five, Lions, Leopard, Black Rhino, Elephants, and Buffalo. It is one of the world’s most astonishing and among the 8th wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers mountain forests, woodlands, grasslands, lakes, swamps, and two major rivers. A packed lunch will be served at a picnic site. In late afternoon ascend the crater and drive back to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5

Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha (125km approx 2hrs 20mins drive)

After breakfast at your accommodation, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a game viewing drive with a picnic lunch. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of African animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos, attracted by the algae in the lake. You will have lunch at a picnic site and after further game viewing, drive back to Arusha at your accommodation.

Day 6

Arusha city to Africa Amini Life (Original Maasai Lodge) 99km approx 2hrs drive

Early morning after breakfast, you will drive straight to Africa Amini Original Maasai Lodge whereby you will have a meaningful and mindful journey to life and nature in Africa. It is located in the most beautiful part of Tanzania between Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Built and run by the Maasai people, the Original Maasai Lodge offers nature, culture, and relaxation with views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Get to know the Maasai through stories around the campfire, spear throwing, or traditional dances. Relaxation is provided by the pool, massage rooms, sauna, and rest areas. After spending time with the locals to get more about their traditions and customs, you will go straight to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Onwards Departure
